Childcare

At Lynch Hill, in addition to the funded 15 hours of Nursery available to all 3 year olds, we now offer an extended 30 hours free entitlement. Parents/legal guardians who meet the income eligibility requirements for this provision will be given an 11 digit eligibility code. Applications for the code can be made through accessing:

It may also be possible for parent/carers who are not eligible for a code for 30 hours to purchase additional hours, depending on availability. The hours offered will be 8.30am – 3.30pm and will be charged at £90.00 per week.

The nursery session starts with a welcome song and registration. Children’s activities are carefully planned around their interests, usually focusing on favourite stories and celebrations to ensure that learning opportunities are achieved through play. Activities include: play dough, sand, painting, sticking, model making. There are many small world activities such as: dinosaurs, mini beasts, wild animals etc. There is also a role-play area that changes regularly to become a house, shop, hospital, or an office. Writing and mark making is an important part of development so a writing and mark making area is always available. A quiet area  can also be accessed where the children can have a look at a book on the comfortable cushions or even lie down if they are feeling tired.

At 11.30am the lunchtime assistants collect the children and take them to the dinner hall.

The lunchtime assistants will supervise the children while they eat their lunch.

Lunchtime assistants will supervise the children outside in the nursery playground.

The children are taken to the school-based nursery with all of their belongings to begin their afternoon session at 12:30pm. Parents collect their children from the school nursery at the end of the day.

Fun Zone is a modestly priced, fun-filled, after-school childcare service. Children can attend the Fun Zone straight from school until 5:45pm. During the session children are offered fun and motivating activities such as art and craft, sport, computing and other games.

Children are also provided with a drink and a snack during the course of the session.

Please speak to the school office if you wish to enquire about reserving your child a place.

We recognise that breakfast is an essential meal of the day. Research proves that pupils who have eaten a good breakfast, can study better. With this in mind, Lynch Hill offers a Breakfast Service for pupils. They can attend every morning from 8am. This service costs just £2.00.  Children can choose between a hot option, several different cereals or toast and a choice of drinks - milk, juices and tea.

The service offers children the opportunity to eat in a social setting and have a relaxed start to the day by meeting with their friends.

We appreciate that children can get a little hungry during the morning, so, to help them study efficiently for the remainder of the morning, we offer a healthy snack service. Children can purchase a range of foods including:  toasted sandwiches, bagels and fruit. This service is very popular and is open throughout the morning break.
