Lynch Hill Learning Characteristics
From the point of entry into Nursery, we recognise that children learn best when they are able to engage confidently with others and with their environment. As they progress beyond the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), it is vital that pupils continue to develop their natural curiosity and are encouraged to become reflective learners. They must be supported to communicate with clarity, think critically and creatively, and demonstrate logical thinking alongside increasingly strong organisational skills.
These key attributes underpin learning and development across all areas of the curriculum, supporting pupils to remain motivated, effective learners who are well prepared for the next stage of their educational journey.
As a staff team, we have taken time to identify the key learning characteristics that define learning at Lynch Hill. These have grown from our commitment to maths mastery and our drive to develop strong oracy skills. We believe that these approaches, when embedded consistently, are equally effective across the whole curriculum and extend far beyond the classroom into all aspects of life. We look forward to supporting our pupils as they develop these characteristics throughout their time at Lynch Hill.
