Year 2 (Key Stage 1) is the second compulsory year of a child’s education, which takes in children between the ages of six and seven. As part of a balanced, yet broad curriculum, students at Lynch Hill will continue to gain a solid grounding in the core subject areas of English and mathematics through daily lessons and practical activities. There is also an ongoing provision for teaching science, computing, history, geography and religious education, providing students with greater insight on other countries and cultures.
Throughout each key stage, we ensure that all Lynch Hill students receive at least two hours a week of physical education (PE) to help maintain a healthy lifestyle, as well as encouraging the children to have active break and lunchtimes.
All children are invited to attend an after school club every term. They can take part in various activities including ICT, drama, pet detectives, art and gardening.
Class presentation assemblies, which parents are invited to, take place every term. This is an opportunity for children to share some of what they have been learning with their parents.
